For older K-pop fans like myself, the news of 3 out of the 5 members of 4Minute celebrating their 10-year anniversary and looking back on their past will warm your sweet and emotional heart.
If you didn’t already ironically read how a K-Pop generation has died, then get to it! The article showcases 4Minute‘s rich history and contribution to K-Pop which makes this article even more impactful/meaningful.
On June 18th, 2009 girl group 4Minute debuted on MCountDown with “Hot Issue” (still a jam) and are now looking back 10 years later over how much they have grown since then.
Although HyunA and Jiyoon had intensive schedules to maintain, members Sohyun, Gayoon, and Jenyer gathered around a delicately small but scrumptious looking cake in the comfort of their homes and reminisced over the sweet past memories shared among them. During that moment, the crew took to Instagram to share personal messages, stories, and even old photos from their debut days! Read em and get all nostalgic alongside 4Minute!
Sohyun’s debut photo translates her growth over the years with the sentence, “2009 to 2019, 16 years old to 26 years old!” Her message continues by saying, “My 16-year-old self who was so young and fresh. It doesn’t feel like it’s been that long… but it’s already the 10th debut anniversary…!!!!! Why does time go by this quickly!! In the past 10 years, I’ve received just as much love from many people as the time went quickly!! I’ll continue to be grateful for that love and work hard so that I can make it up to you.. Thank you.” (Cred.Soompi)
Heartwarming, right? Don’t forget their videos, too!

Finally, the rest of the many wonderful anniversary photos can be seen on Jenyer’s and Gayoon’s Instagram! Gayoon’s message is quite quirky as she states “Already 10 years, I can’t believe it. In the future just like now, and again, I’m excited. I’m grateful, I’m sorry, and since it’s hard to explain in just one sentence, this is a mess. [Jihyun] who couldn’t be with us because of her schedule, let’s do it together next time. And the three of us saw each other a few days ago too and we’re seeing each other again. Let’s stop seeing each other [laughing and crying emojis]. Happy anniversary, my members.” (Cred. Soompi)
Sohyun finishes it all saying, “Although we couldn’t all have a party because of busy schedules!! I’m grateful that we can continue to get together. Thank you again.”
What did you think of the lovely anniversary messages shared between members and for fans? Surely we hope all of our favorite groups can gather together and continue to celebrate the many years of happiness they brought to K-Pop! Happy Anniversary, 4Minute – and thank you!
